The NASCAR Cup Series rolls into Pocono Raceway this weekend for the Great American Getaway 400 — one of the calendar’s more distinctive stops.
Dubbed the “Tricky Triangle,” Pocono presents a unique challenge with its three very different corners, each demanding a different setup approach. The track’s unusual design often leads to unpredictable races, favoring teams that can strike the right balance across all three turns.

There are plenty of storylines heading into this year’s race. Chase Briscoe returns as the defending winner, while Joe Gibbs Racing looks to extend its strong form at the Pennsylvania circuit. Denny Hamlin, in particular, has been dominant here, winning three of the last nine Cup races at Pocono.

Event information
The Great American Getaway 400 is set for Sunday, June 14, with the green flag dropping at 3:00 p.m. ET. The race takes place at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.
Pocono stands apart from every other circuit on the NASCAR schedule. The 2.5-mile track features just three corners, each inspired by a different speedway and built with varying degrees of banking.

Turn 1 is banked at 14 degrees, Turn 2 at eight degrees, and Turn 3 at six degrees. This variety forces teams into tough setup decisions and rewards drivers who can quickly adapt.
The race covers 160 laps and 400 miles, with stage breaks coming after Lap 30 and Lap 95. The final stage will run 65 laps to the finish.
Where to watch
