According to a report from L’Équipe, Nantes will face no sanctions following their meeting with the DNCG over the poor financial management of the club. Les Canaris met with the French football financial authority a year ago and were placed under a salary cap because of the club’s precarious financial position. This sanction was lifted in December during a mid-season hearing.

Nantes owner, Waldemar Kita, was interviewed by the authority today at a pre-arranged meeting, but left with the good news that the Ligue 1 club will not be facing any sanctions following the hearing. The budgets were validated by the body with success.

The Breton club were able to pass the hearing without the proposed sales of Moses Simon (29) to Paris FC for €7m and Douglas Augusto (28) to FK Krasnodar for €6.5m. As Kita left the hearing, he was met by the press, and he confirmed this by stating, “We didn’t have to sell players to validate the budget.”
