Apparently statements like, I want out, I demand a trade.

I will never play here again.

Those sorts of statements are just the way modern athletes remind the world that they need to get paid and get paid is exactly what Miles Garrett has done.

The absolutely electric, dynamic, incredible superstar pass rusher secures a deal that breaks the bank for the entire NFL with ripple effects everywhere.

Max Crosby’s reign as the highest paid non-quarterback in the NFL lasted a few days as he inked a deal with the Raiders.

It pays him an average annual value of around $35.5 billion per year.

Ms Garrett, getting $40 and worth every penny.

Now we’ll have to look at the Cowboys and figure out what that means for the deal that Micah Parsons is about to get.

Remember, they could have done Parsons a year ago and had they done it at the time, pass rushers were viewed in the $35 million dollar range.

Now all of a sudden, we get up to $40 million and this is only going to continue to happen.

It is time to acknowledge that that is now the case with pass rushers as well.

Pass rushers are now in the range of very good quarterbacks.

And when you start factoring in that value at a position like Miles Garrett, again, a player that is worth every penny of it, you have to wonder what that means for drafting guys like Abdul Carter, if you believe Abdul Carter can turn around and become a dynamic pass rusher.

Teams are gonna have to look at the way they build their rosters differently because we have seen that this is now the offseason of dynamic pass.

Crushers get in the bag.

I love every second of this for the players, but now teams are gonna have to look across the league.

They’re gonna have to look at their own rosters and they’re gonna have to start asking themselves, do we get in early on these contracts?

Do we draft more at this position?

Do we take more swings?

Because getting a guy and keeping a guy are two very different value propositions.

In the meantime, Miles Garrett answers the question of where he’s going to play next year.

The Browns answer the question of how they’re going to keep their superstar and everybody’s happy.

Most importantly, Miles Garrett’s family and his banker.
