Valentine Delon is the champion of the 123rd Women’s British Amateur.
The rising senior at Virginia Tech topped Spaniard Andrea Revuelta 3 and 1 on Saturday afternoon at a breezy Muirfield in Scotland to win the biggest title of her life. Revuelta, a rising junior at Stanford, was looking to follow in her teammate and countrymate’s footsteps from a year ago when Paula Martin Sampedro won at Nairn. However, the world No. 4 never led against Delon, who closed out the match with a birdie on the par-5 17th hole.

Delon is the first French champion of the Women’s British Amateur since Celine Boutier in 2015 and ninth overall.
“Amazing. I don’t think it feels real right now, but it’s just the best thing ever,” Delon said. “As I said yesterday, I practiced every day to be in this situation. It was really hard today. The conditions were really hard, but being the champion and putting my name on this trophy is amazing.”
Andrea Revuelta of Spain reacts to Valentine Delon of France during the Final of the 2026 Women’s Amateur Championship at Muirfield on June 27, 2026 in Gullane, Scotland.
With the win, Delon earned exemptions into four major championships: the 2026 Amundi Evian Championship, the 2026 AIG Women’s Open, the 2027 Chevron Championship and 2027 U.S. Women’s Open as well as the 2027 Augusta National Women’s Amateur. She also receives a spot in the field at the LPGA’s Standard Portland Classic later this year.

Delon led 2 up at the halfway break and won the 19th hole to go 3 up, but Revuelta, who a month ago Saturday helped Stanford win the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship, won three of the next five holes to move the match to all square with 12 holes to go. Four holes later, Delon retook a 3-up lead with eight to go, but three straight bogeys then dropped her lead to 1 up with five to play.
She played the next four holes in 1 under, winning two of them, to knock off Revuelta and claim the title.
“I don’t know how I did that,” Delon said. “I just think I was putting a lot of intensity, as I told you, trying to not give space to my opponent. Just a lot of intensity and being really hard on my mindset and then let it go.”
