Michael Block is an extremely divisive figure within the golfing community.
Block made his PGA Tour Champions debut this week at the DICK’S Open in Endicott, New York.
The 50-year-old made a really impressive start in his first event on the senior circuit, posting rounds of 66 and 70.

However, disaster struck on his final hole as Block made a shocking triple bogey seven to fall out of contention.

Block was paired with Dustin Johnson at the PGA Championship last month and that served as proof of his incredible rise in the game over the past few years.
The 50-year-old from California is more than comfortable in the limelight.
He’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but what cannot be questioned is his incredible self-belief.

“Oh, forget about — I mean, the fans are insane,“ he admitted.
“The fans in New York have always been very supportive of me. Love them to death. I wish I could play in New York every single week, they’re just so cool.
“Gosh, the fans in New York are just such sports fanatics and I love them for that. It’s been really cool to have them come out here and support me.“

“Yeah. It was exactly what I had dreamed of and wanted to do, to be honest. And I didn’t hit a bad shot on 18, that was the most frustrating part about it,“ he replied.
“I only made a couple bogeys the entire week and for me to triple bogey the last hole when I hit it down the middle of the fairway, hit a 52-degree wedge directly at the pin, and it hit the tree, which I guess that pin honestly wasn’t in the right spot, to be honest. Then it plugs in the bunker and then all hell breaks loose, I make a triple bogey.
“But that cost me a lot of points, a lot of money, a lot of everything, which is very frustrating. I’m just here trying to make my way possibly onto this tour and that hurt a lot.“
Despite Michael Block’s disastrous final hole at the DICK’S Open, he still did enough to secure a top-10 finish, which is not a bad effort at all considering it was his first ever event on the PGA Tour Champions.
