Clarkston Everest Collegiate won a third straight Michigan high school Division 4 boys golf team championship after shooting rounds of 314 and 317 in the two-day, 36-hole tournament at the Katke Course at Ferris State in Big Rapids, for a final score of 631.
Clarkston Everest Collegiate finished 19 strokes ahead of second-place Grandville Unity Christian to capture its third consecutive Division 4 state championship. Seniors Parker Stalcup and Will Pennanen led the charge by finishing second and third in the individual competition behind Maple City Glen Lake senior, who won the event by shooting a 138 (70-68) over the two-day event..
Pennanen shot a 142 (71-71), Stalcup shot a 143 (71-72), Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian’s Hezekiah Nobel finished fourth with a 148 (77-71) and Kalamazoo Hackett Catholic Prep’s Andrew Ogrin and Wyoming Potter’s House Christian’s Isaiah Ponstine finished tied for fifth with scores of 155.
Clarkston Everest Collegiate (631), Grandville Unity Christian (650), Kalamazoo Hackett Catholic Prep (651), McBain Northern Michigan Christian (652) and Maple City Glen Lake (657) finished as the top five teams in Division 4.
Division 3 boys golf state championship
In Division 3, Jackson Lumen Christi edged Traverse City St. Francis for the team championship at Grand Valley State’s The Meadows course in Allendale, after finishing as the runner-up behind them in 2024.
Lumen Christi finished with a score of 326, followed by St. Francis at 639. Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian finished third at 645, followed by Essexville Garber at 652 and Kalamazoo Christian at 654.
Shepherd senior Christopher Crockett won the individual Division 3 state championship with a score of 145 (70-75). Midland Bullock Creek senior Colton Lower shot a 148 (73-75), Chesaning’s Luke Skaryd shot a 152 (74-78), Grand Rapids West Catholic’s Owen Kotowski shot a 152 (78-74) and Lumen Christi’s Brandon Kulka shot a 152 (75-77).
Grand Rapids Christian won its second Division 2 boys golf team championship in three years after shooting rounds of 289 and 295 at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek. Christian won the championship in 2023 and finished as the runner-up in 2024.
Behind Grand Rapids Christian’s final score of 584, Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood finished with a score of 593, Ada Forest Hills Eastern had 603, Grand Rapids South Christian had 610 and Orchard Lake St. Mary’s had 611.
Chelsea senior Brian Tillman won the Division 2 individual state championship by shooting 139 (71-68) over the two-day event. Grand Rapids Christian junior Cooper Reitsma shot a 140 (69-71) to finish second, and his teammate Sawyer O’Grady finished tied for third with a 141 (69-72) along with Cranbrook junior Andrew Chang (71-70).
Cranbrook junior Henry Delzer and Plainwell junior Drew Rayman finished tied for fifth with scores of 143.
