Graeme McDowell created LIV Golf history on Friday, becoming the first player to hit a second hole-in-one in the tour’s history.

The Northern Irishman aced the par-three second in Singapore to help him to an overall round of 70 which leaves him in a tie for 15th place on three under-par.

It was a second hole-in-one on consecutive weeks after he achieved the same feat in Hong Kong seven days earlier.

“It cost me a very expensive bottle of wine last week in Hong Kong, and I guess it’s going to cost me another very expensive bottle of wine, which I look forward to,” McDowell told LIV Golf.

Holywood golfer Tom McKibbin is further back in a tie for 24th on the leaderboard, sitting on one under-par.

McKibbin shot a one-over round of 72 but his Legion XIII team, which also includes Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton and Caleb Surratt, are three shots off the Crushers whose overall -15 has them leading the team event.

Their captain, Bryson DeChambeau, leads the individual standings on -10 heading into the weekend.
