Matt Fitzpatrick and Alex Fitzpatrick will not forget their latest triumph in a hurry after clinching the title at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Success was looking very likely for the pairing after Saturday’s third round of the PGA Tour event, where the Fitzpatrick brothers made history.

They shot a tournament-record 15-under 57 in the four-ball format to earn a four-shot lead entering the final round, which they then lost on the back nine on Sunday.
But Matt Fitzpatrick and his younger brother Alex held on for a one-shot victory at the Zurich Classic, which the former has now celebrated on social media.

Sharing images of their joint success on the PGA Tour, Matt wrote on X: “Wow. Words can’t describe the feelings for this one.
“Could not be more proud of [Alex Fitzpatrick]. You earned this!”
The duo earned the hard-fought win thanks to a birdie at the last, having been involved in a three-way tie with Kristoffer Reitan and Kristoffer Ventura and Alex Smalley and Hayden Springer on 30-under.

Alex Fitzpatrick reacts to Zurich Classic win with Matt Fitzpatrick
While he was slightly more low-key with his post-round celebrations, Alex Fitzpatrick has also reacted to the win on social media.
Sharing an image of an embrace with Matt at TPC Louisiana, Alex posted simply on his Instagram: “We did it.”
His modest celebrations pale in comparison to his rewards, which include a PGA Tour card through 2028 and exemption for next month’s PGA Championship.
The finish is also some way off their missed cut at last year’s Zurich Classic, with PGA Tour stars Shane Lowry and Brooks Koepka suffering that fate this time around.

Of course, huge financial rewards have gone the way of the champions, who have each earned $1,372,750 for their performances.
