It hasn’t been a quiet day at Olympique de Marseille. In the early hours of the morning, the club announced the departure of Roberto De Zerbi as manager. That decision is one taken by mutual consent and the club are now in the market for a replacement.
Later in the day, a viral video was doing the rounds on social media. The video in question was posted by Ligue 1 Plus, the broadcaster of France’s top-flight, owned by the league and – by extension – the clubs within it.

In the clip, Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé could be seen taunting OM midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The scene came during OM’s humiliating 5-0 defeat in Sunday’s Classique, a result that brought about De Zerbi’s departure earlier on Wednesday.
“[Leonardo] Balerdi is rubbish! You know it. He’s always opening his mouth,” said the Ballon d’Or winner, a reference to OM’s captain and his performance, which received a ‘1’ rating from L’Équipe and Get French Football News.
The release of the clip has “shocked” Marseille, according to RMC Sport and frustrated a club that are already in crisis. The club accuse the broadcaster of trying to “sink” OM during their difficult moment.
