Manchester City take on Tottenham tonight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. It’s another big game for Pep Guardiola’s side as they look to pick up three points against Ange Postecoglou’s side. City needs a victory to maintain their position in the race to secure Champions League football for next season. But they will face an opponent who has caused them trouble in the past. Earlier this season, Tottenham beat Manchester 4-nil at the Etihad, and over the years, they have been a thorn in Manchester City’s side.

Here is the latest City injury news and my predicted City starting eleven for tonight’s match.

Latest Manchester City injury news

Manchester City will enter tonight’s match with several players unavailable due to injury. Rodri, Manuel Akanji, John Stones and Oscar Bobb are all out of tonight’s match due to injury. Pep Guardiola told the media yesterday that Oscar Bobb is set to resume training. The young winger suffered a setback during his comeback from the fractured leg he sustained on the eve of the 24/25 season. But he does appear to be nearing a return to training which does mean his return to the pitch is getting closer.

Erling Haaland remains in doubt for tonight’s pivotal match. Pep Guardiola told the media yesterday that a decision on Haaland’s availability for City’s clash with Tottenham would be made after his squad trained yesterday.

Predicted City starting eleven

Ederson: I can’t see Ederson being dropped for tonight’s match so I expect him to start in goal.

Rico Lewis: Although he made an error that led to a corner that Liverpool scored from last Saturday, I expect Lewis to resume his role at right-back against Tottenham.

Ruben Dias: I find it unlikely that Nathan Ake will start two games in a row after his injury layoff, so Dias will start tonight, in my opinion.

Abdukodir Khusanov: Khusanov has impressed during City’s recent game and his strength and pace could be crucial against Tottenham’s attacking weapons.

Josko Gvardiol: Gvardiol was well below his best against Liverpool. But I do expect him to take his place at left-back for tonight’s match.

Nico: Given the role that he plays and how important he is for Pep Guardiola’s side I can’t see Nico not starting tonight.

Mateo Kovacic: It is a toss-up between Kovacic and Bernardo Silva as to who will start alongside Nico in midfield. But I expect Kovacic to start and play in his preferred role.

Phil Foden: I’d like to see Foden start in midfield against Ange Postecoglou’s side. That may help him get back to his best form.

Savinho: Considering that Jeremy Doku has just returned after an injury layoff I feel that Savinho will start on the right wing for Pep Guardiola’s side tonight.

Omar Marmoush: He appears to be an automatic selection based on how Tottenham play. If there is space to get in behind Spurs’ defence we could see Marmoush have a big game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Erling Haaland: If Haaland is over his knee issue he will start. If he does he will have a massive role to play for his team.
