Manchester City are among a long list of clubs tracking Ajax winger Mika Godts ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports from the Netherlands.

Godts is enjoying a superb campaign in the Eredivisie, having found the net 17 times while garnering 14 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for John Heitinga’s side, most recently scoring in a 2-2 draw with PSV on Saturday.

The talented left-winger has proven himself to be a consistent performer in the Dutch top-flight and has a contract running until the summer of 2029, making his potential exit a costly one.

Only time will tell whether can replicate his rising form in the Premier League but the 20-year-old certainly shows the strengths that come with being a positive and influential player.

Most notably was Viana’s ability to lure Antoine Semenyo to east Manchester in the January transfer window before signing Marc Guehi for just £20 million to help with Guardiola’s title charge.

Godts’s potential inclusion into City’s frontline would improve Guardiola’s options in the longer run – given he already has the ability to get into most Premier League starting squads.
