In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Manchester City are hoping to land Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. It has been stated that the Mancunian club are willing to launch a €60m move to bring the French talent to the Etihad Stadium next year.

Camavinga’s Impressive Season In La Liga

Camavinga had a decent campaign at the Madrid club recently as he managed to put in a run of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The France international netted two goals and picked up two assists in 35 matches for Los Blancos last season across various competitions.

The 22-year-old offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and did well to make 42 tackles, 24 blocks, 18 interceptions and 23 clearances in La Liga. He was even careful with his ball distribution from midfield after completing 88.3% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top flight (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will run out in the summer of 2029. Thus, Man City would have to make a massive offer if they are serious about recruiting him next year.

Should Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Recruit Camavinga?

Camavinga is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure the ball back for his side at the centre of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a tidy passer as well.

The French sensation can even strike the ball with venom from long range. Camavinga can also create the odd chance for others around him in the final third. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play as a defensive midfielder or as a left-back if told to do so.

We can expect Camavinga to bring more quality and depth to Man City head coach Pep Guardiola’s midfield department. He is good enough to compete for regular first-team football at the Etihad Stadium over the next few years. The French talent might even help the Mancunian giants challenge for some major silverware in the future.

At 22, Camavinga has got a very promising future ahead of him as long as he continues to improve with each year. Hence, Guardiola should focus on going all out to recruit him this January or at the end of this campaign.
