PSG face increasing uncertainty in goal, with Lucas Chevalier emerging as a possible long-term solution. Although Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract runs through 2026, he and the club have yet to agree on an extension.

According to L’Équipe, even before the European season ended, Donnarumma privately considered leaving PSG, despite publicly saying otherwise.

The report also says Manchester United and Manchester City have been interested since June. PSG want to finalize Chevalier’s signing before allowing Donnarumma to move on.

Manchester United have been linked with players like Emi Martinez, but their loan bid was reportedly turned down by Aston Villa. The Manchester Evening News reports (h/t The Mirror) the club doesn’t have a budget for a new No. 1 goalkeeper.

Even without funds to bring in a new keeper, Andre Onana has made it clear he wants to stay in Manchester. He’s reportedly been reassured that he won’t be sold or replaced.

If there’s any goalkeeper likely to leave, it might be Altar Bayindir, especially since veteran Tom Heaton recently signed a contract extension.

PSG seem close to wrapping up the Donnarumma chapter. According to L’Équipe, the club has stepped up its pursuit of Lucas Chevalier. Negotiations for a five-year contract started a few days ago, and the goalkeeper has already reached a general agreement with PSG.

Only a few small details are left before formal talks between the clubs get underway. The transfer from Lille is expected to cost at least €40 million — a price PSG has already considered and is ready to pay.
