There’s another heavyweight clash in the Eredivisie after De Klassieker last week as Ajax host PSV Eindhoven on Saturday.
It didn’t take long for the deadlock to break either, as one Luuk de Jong returned to haunt his favourite opposition.
The Dutch captain gave the visitors the lead after just under 20 minutes when he leapt highest and thumped a header into the top right corner.
All goalkeeper Remko Pasveer could do was watch, and it means De Jong hit an interesting feat by scoring against the Amsterdam side yet again.
He now has scored in eight consecutive games against Ajax in the league, becoming the first player to register that many against a specific opponent since 1982-1986 (Hallvar Thoresen, with eight against Go Ahead Eagles).
