It’s safe to say Luka Dončić is ready to settle down in the Los Angeles area.

According to Sandra Barrera of the Orange County Register and Marc Sternfield of KTLA 5 in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar purchased the former home of tennis legend Maria Sharapova last month for $25 million.

The home is located in the Manhattan Beach area and is three stories with five bedrooms, a two-lane bowling alley and a pool.

The timing is notable for both athletes, as Sharapova was just inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame after a career that saw her win 36 singles titles and the career Grand Slam. In all, she won five major championships, two of which came at Roland Garros.

As for Dončić, he is fully committed to the Lakers after agreeing to a three-year, $165 million contract extension this offseason. The deal features a player option for 2028-29.

Los Angeles acquired him from the Dallas Mavericks via trade last season, and the 26-year-old figures to be the face of the franchise in the future after 40-year-old LeBron James either retires or goes to play elsewhere.

James is entering the final season on his deal with the Lakers.

If the three-year extension wasn’t enough proof Dončić is committed to Los Angeles, using some of that cash to purchase such a notable house in the area is further validation.

Now that he has a new place to call home, he will look to win his first championship during the upcoming season and cement himself as a fan favorite in Los Angeles.
