In a recent report, journalist Paul Joyce claimed that Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is a subject of another bid from Inter Milan. It is believed that the Italian outfit have offered €30m plus €5m in addons to land the English talent from the Reds this summer.

Jones’ Important Role At Merseyside

Jones enjoyed a good run of form at the Merseyside club, but struggled to make himself a regular starter for them in the Premier League last season. The English talent found the back of the net three times and secured three assists in 49 matches for Liverpool in the previous campaign in various competitions.

The 25-year-old is currently one of the most talented midfielders in the Premier League. Thus, the Reds cannot afford to lose a player with his skill set in this transfer window.

His current contract at the Merseyside club will run out at the end of next season. Hence, Liverpool have no choice but to cut him loose this month or else risk losing him as a free agent in 2027.

Should Liverpool Boss Andoni Iraola Cash In On Jones?

Jones is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can strike it with venom from long range. He has the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third and doesn’t mind putting in a hard-working performance for his team defensively when needed.

The English talent can even chip in by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team. Jones is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also function as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if needed. Hence, Liverpool cannot afford to lose a player of Jones’ quality unless they bring in a suitable replacement for him in this summer transfer window.

However, the English sensation is on an expiring contract, so the Reds might benefit from cashing in on him this month and using the money generated from his potential sale to sign an ideal replacement before the end of this transfer period.

At 25, Jones has his peak years ahead of him and might have a good market value in the future if Liverpool can tie him down to a new contract. However, it seems more logical for the Merseyside club to part ways with him this summer.
