In a recent report, TuttoJuve mentioned that Liverpool are showing interest in AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori this summer. It is believed that the Reds would have to compete with Juventus in the race to land the English centre-back this off-season.

Tomori’s Solid Campaign In Serie A

Tomori enjoyed a solid campaign at the Milan club in the previous campaign after he put in a string of solid performances for them on the defensive end of the field. The 28-year-old made 37 appearances for AC Milan last season, securing three assists for them on all fronts.

The English talent has proven himself to be a reliable centre-back in Serie A. Thus, it is no surprise that the Reds are in the running to land him in this summer transfer window.

His current contract at San Siro will run out at the end of next season, which could open the door for Liverpool to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Should Liverpool Boss Andoni Iraola Get Tomori On Board?

Tomori loves a tackle and can sense the danger well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and excels at playing his way out from the back.

Standing at 1.85m, the English sensation can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his side. Tomori is primarily a central defender but can also operate as a right-back if asked to do so by his manager. He already has some experience in the Premier League from his time at Chelsea and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Liverpool.

We can expect Tomori to add more bite and steel to Andoni Iraola’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at Anfield in the coming seasons.

At 28, Tomori is playing in his prime and is well equpped to make an immediate impact at the Merseyside club. He will also help the Reds challenge across all competitions over the next few years. Hence, Iraola would be wise to go all out to get Tomori on board before the end of this summer transfer window.
