The checkered flag is out for the NASCAR Homestead race.
Kyle Larson has won Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This is Larson’s first win of the 2025 season and the 30th of his NASCAR Cup Series career.
Larson took the lead from polesitter Alex Bowman with seven laps to go when Bowman hit the wall on the exit of turn 4. The Hendrick Motorsports drivers were racing close toward the end of the race, allowing Larson to pass Bowman easily.
“It was far from perfect,” Larson said to FOX Sports pit reporter Regan Smith. “I knew I wasn’t going to get the best restart; I wasn’t good on the short runs. … Just had to keep plugging away. … This is one of the coolest wins I’ve had in my Cup career, just because of all the heartbreak I’ve had here. To just keep my head down and keep digging felt really good.”
Ryan Blaney, who blew an engine on lap 207, won the first stage and led 124 laps. Denny Hamlin won the race’s second stage. Sunday’s race had four cautions and 27 lead changes.
