Kyle Busch had a loose wheel and hit the outside wall at the NASCAR Las Vegas race, his home event as a Las Vegas native.

Busch, who was running 11th on lap 113 in Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, had the right rear wheel fly off the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet.

The wheel wasn’t on all the way, so the aluminum alloy rim was rubbing against metal and was ground to a sharp piece and cut the tire. The rim separated from the tire and flew down the racetrack.

Busch’s car also had a brake line issue after hitting the wall.

Busch’s incident wasn’t the first wheel issue in Sunday’s race. Chase Briscoe had a loose wheel in the first stage of Sunday’s race.

Christopher Bell’s team didn’t get the left wheel tightened down all the way. He stopped in Briscoe’s stall to get the wheel taken care of before he had a similar issue. Bell was penalized for pitting outside his pit stall and restarted at the end of the longest line.

Busch has brought his car to the garage for more repairs. He is scored 36th.
