At some point, NASCAR fans were going to notice.
Kylan Darnell has seemingly gone from being a familiar face in the sports-media world to becoming a very familiar face around William Byron’s NASCAR world.
And she’s been around.
Darnell has been spotted at countless NASCAR races this summer as Byron has battled through the regular season and into the Chase.
Now, suddenly, fans are looking at those appearances a little differently.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver made things even more interesting when he posted vacation photos that included Darnell, captioning the post “Quality time.” Darnell responded with “My fav” and shared the post herself.
That’s about as subtle as two people can be without actually putting a relationship announcement on a billboard.
Darnell isn’t some random person who wandered into the NASCAR garage, either.
She’s built a major following as a social-media personality and sports reporter, including work around SEC football and ESPN’s College GameDay.
And now she’s spending a whole lot of time around NASCAR.
Byron has traditionally kept his personal life relatively private, making the sudden attention around Darnell even more interesting.
Nobody needs to officially announce anything at this point.
The internet has already started doing the math.
Race after race.
Appearance after appearance.
And then that Instagram post.
Maybe it’s all completely innocent.
Or maybe NASCAR fans have been watching the beginning of a new power couple unfold right in front of them all summer.
Either way, people have definitely noticed.
