Kevin Harvick believes that the drivers on the NASCAR playoff bubble are not having the best week. On Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour, Harvick detailed how the playoff bubble drivers are feeling as they head into the regular-season finale at Daytona.

“It’s miserable,” Kevin Harvick said. “It’s the most miserable thing that you can possibly do all year, go to Daytona on the bubble. There’s not anything else that’s more miserable than that they who season.”

Harvick pointed out that Alex Bowman is “miserable” because he’s holding on to the final playoff spot. “There’s no way he’s not miserable this week because they know they’re fast enough to be in it. You got guys in it that are 25th, 26th in the points that have now won a race…”

Harvick continued, “I think they’ve run well enough to win races and haven’t capitalized on it. But he’s miserable. He’s not going to sleep all week; he’s going to second-guess everything that they’ve done. The team is going to do the exact same thing, but once you get to the track, and you’re there, you’re like, ‘All right.’ It’s almost easier, because you know in his position, you know what to do.”

Kevin Harvick talks about Tyler Reddick’s NASCAR playoff strategy at Daytona

Harvick also talked about Tyler Reddick, who is in 15th place in the playoff standings. He has a 29-point lead over Bowman, which means he will have to figure out the best strategy to clinch a playoff spot. Harvick then said for Reddick that he should “do everything the 48 (Bowman) does.”

14 different drivers have won NASCAR Cup Series races this season, meaning that 14 drivers have clinched playoff spots. The first four drivers who are outside the top 16 are Chris Buescher, Ryan Preece, Kyle Busch and Ty Gibbs. Those four drivers will try to win at Daytona, and if that happens, it will make things really interesting for Reddick and Bowman.

The playoffs will start on Aug. 31 at Darlington. The 16 playoff drivers will compete in the first three playoff races, and the four at the bottom of the standings after the three races will be eliminated. The bottom four drivers will continue to be eliminated after every three races until it’s down to four, and those four will compete in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship race at Phoenix on Nov. 2.
