While new Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan just finished stocking the team’s closet with all new players during his first draft as the leader of Miami’s front office, the final first-round pick of the Chris Grier tenure has decided that his game-day wardrobe could use some sprucing up as well.
Dolphins defensive tackle Kenneth Grant — the 13th overall selection in the first-round of the 2025 NFL Draft — has officially changed his jersey number. He’s ditching the #90 kit in exchange for #78 — formerly worn by failed offensive line experiment James Daniels. Grant is returning to his college number, where at the University of Michigan he was a third-team All-American in 2024, and a two-time All-Big Ten selection in 2023 and 2024.

While his rookie year wasn’t a total failure — some would label his contributions to the 2025 Miami Dolphins a little on the “underwhelming” side. He finished the season with 33 total tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and five quarterback hits. Grant’s play did improve as the year went along, so predicting another step forward for the youngster in 2026 would be a solid bet.
