Kaulig Racing president Chris Rice has shared the latest details on the team anchoring Ram’s return to the NASCAR Truck Series. Rice spoke to Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports about how the process came about since the Kaulig has strong ties with Chevrolet.
“We had meetings with Chevrolet,” Rice said. “It’s like anything, right? We’re going to run Chevrolets in Xfinity and Cups. We just told them why, what, when and why we needed to do this. The biggest thing was Chevy has been with us been with us for a while. The OEM partner has been with us for a long time. We don’t want to disrespect them at all because we need them, just like hopefully they need us.
“Long story short, I think they went fine. They got to do what they have to do for their OEM, and we needed to do what we needed to do.
Chris Rice was then asked if Dodge were to make the move to the NASCAR Cup Series, would he want Kaulig to be the team fielding the car? “We haven’t really talked about it,” Rice stated. “I can just tell you what we did, as we talked through this, we wanted to be in the Truck Series somehow, another, but we couldn’t do it on Matt [Kaulig’s] money. Getting Ram as a partner was key.”

Ram will be part of the NASCAR Truck Series in 2026, and Kaulig will field up to five Ram 1500 trucks. The 2026 Truck Series season will kick off on Feb. 13, 2026, at Daytona.

Kaulig currently field two charterd enteries in the NASCAR Cup Series and three teams in the Xfinity Series. The team has won 29 races over the last seven seasons in the two series. The lineup for the Truck Series teams will be announced at a later date.
