Katie Taylor vs. Flora Pili live results, round-by-round updates, ring walks for today’s retirement fight

Into the second half of this fight. It didn’t look like we’d get to this point in Round 3, but Brennan has done well to survive and do just enough to stay in this fight. But that body shot at the end of the fifth may be the beginning of the end.

The doctor is checking over Brennan. He is allowed to continue. Another body shot from Bevan. DOWN for a FOURTH time! A left uppercut, and a right hand follows. DOWN AGAIN! The towel comes in, but Brennan is laid out on the canvas. The fight should’ve been stopped after four knockdowns.

The body shot finally gets him. A left hook downstairs in the final 20 seconds and down for a third time was Brennan.

We haven’t got 83,000 in there just yet, but the place is definitely starting to fill up. The seating on the pitch is pretty much full, and the stands are starting to fill up too.

Lovely body shot from Bevan to open Round 4. He’s come out fast, looking for the finish. He’s letting his hands go. Brennan needs to survive this and weather the storm to have a chance in this fight. Brennan is clearly hurt to the body, by the way he is covering up. A combination in response from Brennan. The crowd cheered. A crunching body punch from Bevan. Bevan knocks back the head with a stiff jab. A right hand over the top finds the target. Final minute. Bevan jumps into a right. Body shots and uppercuts are brilliant from Bevan on the inside.

They are going to work early in Round 3, exchanging shots on the inside. Bevan’s long jab allows him to create some distance. The left hook to the body has landed all night long for Bevan, and surely that will start to pay dividends as this fight goes on. Three-piece attempted by Brennan. Nice body shot for Bevan. And this time he throws the left hook upstairs – and DOWN goes Brennan! That switch-up was very smart. And an assault from Bevan. It’s non-stop punching. A right hand connects. DOWN AGAIN!

10-7, 30-25 Bevan

Nice left hook to the body from Bevan to open Round 2. Bevan gets through with a couple of rights at the end of the first minute – the first time in this fight we’ve seen that shot come into play. Bevan is attempting right uppercuts through the middle. Left hook upstairs. Brennan comes back on the inside. Brennan walks into a right uppercut. Lovely stiff jab knocks back Brennan’s head. Bevan continues his assault on the midsection.

We are underway with our main card for an historic boxing night at Croke Park. After a scare in June, Bevan will be looking to improve on that performance tonight against Brennan. Bevan doubles up on the jab to open proceedings. A body shot lands for Brennan. Bevan is looking to establish that jab. He connects with a left hook upstairs and then two more to the body. More hooks connect for Bevan in an exchange. Brennan is trying to land that punch as well. But eats a body shot on the inside, he does. Bevan is looking to land more body shots with his left hook. Brennan returns the favor. He does connect with a left hook upstairs. Final minute. Jab to the stomach from Bevan. Bevan looks to go through the middle with left uppercuts. Solid opener for Bevan.

Top prospect Taylor Bevan (9-0, 8 KOs) collides with the undefeated Irishman Emmet Brennan (6-0, 1 KO) in a 10-round super middleweight bout.

She defeats Sylwia Doligala by unanimous decision (80-72, 80-73, 79-73) in our final prelim fight.

McCann is doing some good work through five rounds, and she may have made a dent in Doligala now. Doligala is tough, though, and won’t stop coming forward and trying to win.

She’s boxing fluidly in both the orthodox and southpaw stances. Doligala looks to be a step behind. Can McCann land something meaningful and go through the gears, though?
