In a devastating bit of news, FC Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia has suffered an injury during training today, reports Gerard Romero.
The 24-year-old summer signing has become a key player for Hansi Flick since arriving from RCD Espanyol and has started all games this season.
His mistake last night against Real Oviedo cost the team a goal, but other than that, Garcia has been simply brilliant, pulling off clutch performances against the likes of Rayo Vallecano and Newcastle United.
Now, though, the Spanish ace is understood to have suffered an injury in training earlier today, details of which are yet to be confirmed.
An official update from the club regarding the nature of Garcia’s injury and its severity is expected to arrive imminently.

This comes as a bitter blow for Barcelona, who have already lost the likes of Gavi and Fermin Lopez to injuries.
Signed from Espanyol for his €25 million release clause, Garcia had quickly established himself as an important player in the team.
While his reflexes and shot-stopping were already exceptional, the Spaniard had also impressed with his sweeping abilities as well as his distribution.
With Garcia now set to be sidelined, the onus of guarding the goal will once again fall on the shoulders of Wojciech Szczesny, much like last season.
