Jordan Spieth has experienced a really challenging 2026 PGA Tour season.
Spieth is still waiting for his first PGA Tour win since April 2022 and the harder he works on his game, the more he seems to struggle.

However, the 33-year-old from Dallas, Texas, has made the FedEx Cup playoffs.

The three-time major champion will need to play well this week in Memphis if he is to move on to the BMW Championship the following week.
Spieth has kept an unusually low profile since The Open Championship, refusing to partake in as many media duties as he has done previously.
However, he will be buoyed by his top-20 finish at the Wyndham Championship last week, and qualifying for the FedEx Cup playoffs will undoubtedly have boosted his confidence.

Spieth will tee it up at TPC Southwind for the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Thursday.
The 13-time PGA Tour winner will be looking to record his first top-10 finish of the season in Memphis.
It’s quite incredible to think that Spieth has not finished inside the top-10 all season long, yet still managed to qualify for the playoffs.
In fact, Spieth’s achievement is even more remarkable than you may think.

That’s because he has become the first golfer to qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs without recording a top-10 finish throughout the regular season since the PGA Tour changed the qualifying threshold to 70 players.

What that does show is that despite the fact that Spieth has received plenty of criticism for his performances this season, he has been incredibly consistent.

Spieth has only missed three cuts in 21 PGA Tour starts this season.
Although Spieth has zero top-10s to his name, he has racked up nine top-25 finishes.
Here’s the key, though: four of those have been top-12 finishes.
One of those came at The Masters and two of them were in Signature Events – the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Genesis Invitational.
So, Jordan Spieth stockpiled the vast majority of his FedEx Cup points in huge PGA Tour events.

Obviously his main aim will be to return to the PGA Tour winners’ circle as soon as possible.
However, qualifying for the FedEx Cup playoffs should not be written off as nothing. At the very least, Spieth has prolonged his season by one more event.
