Jon Rahm has won yet another LIV Golf individual title, claiming the league’s top prize for the third year running.
Joaquin Niemann won LIV Golf New York at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, but Rahm did enough to secure an insurmountable lead at the top of the standings.

The Spaniard also claimed the individual title in 2024 and 2025, doing so last year without winning a single tournament.
Rahm has now assessed his latest achievement, and in doing so has made a reference to PGA Tour star Scottie Scheffler.

Rahm was asked by the media after his LIV Golf title if people prize consistency as much as they should, to which he replied: “I think everybody when it comes to sports, we have severely… I think we have a lot of recency bias, what the latest thing you’ve done is the main thing that matters. I think we have that a lot.

“You can take F1, for example. [Max] Verstappen has won four championships in a row, and then last season he had a great chance, finishes second, and then now you don’t really think about it.
“Even Scottie, who’s had not the year he’s had the last few years, Scottie Scheffler in golf, and even though he’s leading the FedExCup we don’t really talk about it because we have the recency bias that oh, he hasn’t won in the last two months.
“I think that’s what we have, and then when people start sitting down and seeing the whole picture, it’s a little different.”
Scheffler does indeed lead the FedExCup standings heading into the playoffs, although the American has claimed just one PGA Tour win in 2026.

The world number one also has five runner-up finishes to his name, and has missed just one cut from his 17 appearances.

In contrast, Rahm has secured two wins in LIV Golf this season, although he struggled in New York with a T41 finish.
But he now cannot be caught by his closest rivals Bryson DeChambeau and Niemann, who occupy second and third places respectively.
Sharing his enjoyment at the battles he has played out with that duo since joining LIV Golf, Rahm said: “Yeah, I’ve had a few.
“I’ve gone head-to-head with both of them quite a few times. They’ve won some, I’ve won some. It’s been quite interesting. It’s been a lot of fun.

“The only thing we’ve missed is one week where all three of us were firing on all cylinders and we could have enjoyed that. That could have been quite a thing.”
LIV Golf Indianapolis is now set to bring the individual season to a close, followed by the Team Championship Michigan, although it may not go ahead.
4Aces GC currently lead the team standings, followed by Ripper GC in second and Rahm’s Legion XIII in third.
