Winnipeg Jets forward Parker Ford will make his NHL debut tonight against the Boston Bruins.

The Jets signed the Wakefield, RI native to an entry-level contract on Mar. 25, 2023, after he completed four years at Providence College. During his NCAA career, Ford scored 41 goals and 94 points in 131 games.

Since he signed with the organization, the 24-year-old has been playing with the Manitoba Moose. His AHL tenure has seen him record 31 goals and 62 points in 116 games. This season, Ford leads the team in goals scored and is second in points.

Ford is listed at just 5’9, 181 lbs but tends to be one of, if not the smartest players on the ice. He uses his excellent speed to be aggressive on the forecheck and in his own end. He’s quick to read to the play, clog up passing lanes and challenges shooters, cutting down their time and space to release the puck.

The last time the Jets and Bruins played, tempers flared several times, including a fight between David Gustafsson and Trent Frederic. During this morning’s practice, Ford skated alongside Gustafsson and Alex Iafallo on the fourth line.

Morgan Barron, who Ford was called up to replace, was placed on the injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 28. He’ll be eligible to return by Feb. 4 against the Carolina Hurricanes but the severity of his ailment is unknown.
