- Jensen International Automotive reveals the name of its new performance car.
- It’s called the Interceptor GTX.
- The pre-production model debuts soon.
The rebirth of the Jensen brand is one step closer to reality. Today, Jensen International Group is announcing the name of its new performance car—it’s called the Interceptor GTX, and we will get our first look at the car very soon.
The Interceptor name is not new to Jensen. It was the model that cemented the brand’s reputation as a builder of styling grand tourers, and while the new one will draw inspiration from the original, Jensen is adamant that it is not a continuation car but something fresh and unique.
The GTX will feature an aluminum chassis wrapped in a hand-built aluminum body. Under the hood will sit a “bespoke V8” engine, but specifics remain elusive. We will likely learn more about the model when the pre-production model debuts, which Jensen says will happen in the second quarter, and the company is designing it to compete with Aston Martin.
David Duerden, Managing Director of JIA, said:
‘Unveiled sixty years after the launch of the original Jensen Interceptor, the 2026 Jensen Interceptor GTX blends traditional craftsmanship and modern technology to confidently assert its own contemporary character. We look forward to revealing our first prototype very soon: a pre-production, ultra-high-performance special which will set pulses racing and take Jensen into new territory.’
Motor1’s Take: Jensen is another bespoke British automaker trying to make a comeback and is venturing into a crowded segment. Ultra-luxury GT cars are niche products already, and new entrants mean more competition.
