After defeating the Chicago Bears with a walk-off Hail Mary touchdown pass on Sunday, Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels had a tweet resurface from a decade ago where he called out his future opponents:

Jayden Daniels @JayD__5

The Bears are terrible!!😂😂

Naturally, fans on social media had fun with the old tweet, seeing it as a prediction of things to come:

GG Era @ClipNation74

You predicted the future

CJ @Xraade

😂😂😂😂

In fairness to Daniels, he tweeted his criticism of the Bears after they suffered a 55-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers in 2014. Chicago went on to finish with a 5-11 record that season.

On Sunday, Daniels found Noah Brown for a 52-yard touchdown pass as time expired to give the Commanders an 18-15 victory over the Bears.

“We keep fighting,” Daniels said after the game. “We got a great locker room, a great brotherhood. Nobody else I’d rather go to war with.”

The 23-year-old threw for a career-high 326 yards on 21-of-38 passing with one touchdown and no interceptions in the victory. He looks to be in the driver’s seat for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and he has the Commanders in a position to earn a playoff spot.

The win improved Washington’s record to 6-2, moving the team into first place in the NFC East. Daniels, the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL draft, got the better of No. 1 pick Caleb Williams, whose Chicago squad fell to 4-3.

Daniels and the Commanders will take on the New York Giants (2-5) in a division matchup next Sunday. Washington earned a 21-18 victory when it faced New York the first time this season in Week 2.
