Jason Day’s 2026 season ended in disappointment at the Wyndham Championship on Friday.
Day posted rounds of 71 and 73 at the Wyndham Championship this week, and will comfortably miss the cut.
The 38-year-old Australian’s missed cut in North Carolina this week means that he will be outside of the top-70 in the FedEx Cup points list and, as a result, he will not qualify for the playoffs.

Day withdrew from the 3M Open two weeks ago, and he did the same at the Rocket Classic the following week.
Now, unfortunately for him, his season has come to an end.
Jason Day says his ‘body is beat’ after missed cut at the Wyndham Championship
Day was asked by one reporter how he feels now that his 18-year streak of making the PGA Tour playoffs has come to an end, following his missed cut at the Wyndham Championship.
“I’m looking forward to taking some time off,“ the Australian admitted.

“My body’s been really awful actually this year, so just to try and grind through it has been tough. The last two days have been pretty hard to try and get my body ready.

“I wanted to play like 3M and Detroit and, unfortunately, I couldn’t do anything there.
“Yeah, it was a good streak obviously, and I would have loved to keep the streak going. But things happen, you know.
“You’re not going to keep everything going forever. Best to kind of take some time off, get my body sorted and try and come out next year and play well.“
Day has hinted that he won’t be playing any golf at all for the rest of 2026, and that might be just what he needs.

Jason Day says his ‘body is beat’
Day went on to explain how his body failing him has been the main reason why he has struggled on the PGA Tour in 2026.
“Yeah, I would say that probably the largest attribute to the poor play has been my body,” the 38-year-old admitted.
“Just trying to think. I had some club changes, but other than that it’s been kind of all body stuff.
“A couple coach changes, changed coach, but I think overall I just need to take some time off.
“Like, my body is beat.“
It’s sad to hear Day talk like that at just 38 years of age.
Hopefully he rests and recuperates throughout the off-season and comes back stronger next year.
