The Philadelphia Eagles survived a scare against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday to remain undefeated.
The Rams had a shot at a game-winning field goal, but Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis blocked the kick and returned it for a touchdown to seal a 33-26 comeback victory.
A four-yard touchdown pass from Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts to DeVonta Smith with 1:48 left in the fourth quarter paved the way for the team’s comeback win over the Rams. Philadelphia had trailed for the entire second half before Hurts’ third touchdown pass of the game.
In all, Hurts was 21-of-32 for 226 yards, three scores and no interceptions. He also had 40 rushing yards and another touchdown on the ground. Star receiver A.J. Brown led the way with six catches for 109 yards and a touchdown, while Smith notched eight receptions for 60 yards and the game-winning score.
Fans on social media were blown away by the resiliency shown by the reigning Super Bowl champs in Sunday’s win over the Rams:
The Eagles overcame a tough day for star running back Saquon Barkley, who was limited to 46 yards on 18 carries. It was his third straight game with less than 100 rushing yards to start the season.
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 196 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the loss. Running back Kyren Williams had 94 rushing yards and two catches for 18 yards and a score.
The Eagles will look to stay undefeated when they return to action next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Rams will try to bounce back against the Indianapolis Colts.
