Jake Paul, 28, and his new fiancée, Jutta Leerdam, 26, announced their engagement in a series of sappy social media posts on Monday, March 22. And the news seemed to have surprised fans — even though the couple have been together since they publicly announced their relationship in April 2023.
While Leerdam’s fans were happy for the athlete’s big news, his were less kind.
So who is Jutta Leerdam?
Paul became famous as a young YouTube star (his single “It’s Everyday Bro” went viral when he was just 20), and has more than 80 million followers across his social media channels. So it’s not exactly fair to compare clout between him and his bride-to-be. But the stunning Dutch speedskater has amassed an impressive following of her own: 5 million on Instagram and 1.6 million on TikTok.

The 5’11” Leerdam is also a competitive athlete with no intentions of retiring anytime soon. In a TikTok post around the same time as the engagement announcement, she danced while eating a piece of mango with the caption. “I will be an island girl when I retire.”
In the World Speed Skating Single Distances Championships a few weeks prior to the engagement, Leedrdam won bronze in the women’s 1000m, silver in the womens’ 500m, and a team sprint gold.
Paul — younger brother by just one year to fellow social media star Logan Paul — climbed the ranks of boxing after his social media success. His first fights were for publicity, and then he transitioned into MMA, moved up in weight, and transitioned into professional boxing.
In one sanctioned fight against Mike Tyson that was streamed live on Netflix, it was reported that Jake earned $40 million and Tyson $20 million.
Jake’s current net worth, according to Celebrity Net Worth, is $100 million. Numbers were not available for Leerdam.

The couple seem extremely happy. On a TikTok post published the day before their engagement announcement, Leerdam gushed, “And they’re gonna be like, ‘Hey do you guys want anything?’ And we’re gonna be like, no, because we have each other.’”
Leerdam was previously in a five-year relationship with fellow Dutch speed skater Koen Verweij; the two broke it off in 2022.
