Jackson Koivun is a week away from becoming one of the youngest players ever to compete in the Presidents Cup.
Team USA captain Brandt Snedeker picked the 21-year-old after he won the 3M Open in his third event as a pro. Koivun is expected to be the next big thing in the sport, and he’ll gain some valuable experience at Medinah for Team USA.

Koivun will integrate into the American team as they not only look to win the Presidents Cup, but also prepare for next year’s Ryder Cup at Adare Manor. It’s important that Koivun uses the opportunity to familiarise himself with the players and the system.
The American team have taken the young star into their group, and he said that two players in particular have been mentoring him since he arrived on the PGA Tour.

Koivun has already begun to integrate himself into Team USA, and speaking before the Biltmore Championship, he said that he’s been leaning on the experience of Justin Thomas and Russell Henley for a while now.

He said, “They’ve all been so nice to me. They’re all — like we all pull for each other in those team events. I know we’re all super excited.
“Getting down into Jupiter, we’ve been playing a decent amount of golf together. I’ve known JT for a while now and he’s been someone I’ve looked up to and kind of picked his brain, along with Russell Henley who would come to Auburn a good bit being from that area and we would play a lot of golf together.
“Those two I’ve just been pretty close to, and they’ve been nothing but open arms.”
It’s important for Team USA’s future that the current generation help to welcome Koivun, and it sounds like they’re committed to doing exactly that.
