Stars littered the AT&T Stadium landscape on Friday night, with luminaries such as Travis Scott, Livvy Dunne, Ralph Macchio and Jerry Jones trekking to Arlington, Texas, in the hopes of witnessing greatness.

Many were there to see if former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson could conjure up magic in his piston-like hands and compete with internet superstar Jake Paul.

That wasn’t the case for Rosie Perez, though. The 60-year old actress would have likely been watching the action unfold regardless of Tyson and Paul’s involvement.

That’s just how life is for Perez, one of boxing’s most prominent supporters. The lifelong boxing fanatic offered musings as a part of Netflix’s broadcast crew, bumping shoulders with Roy Jones Jr. and Mauro Ranallo in the process.

So, just how big of a boxing fan is Perez? The Sporting News has you covered.

Is Rosie Perez a boxing fan?

In a word, yes, Perez is a boxing fan.

More than that, she’s an advocate for all things related to the Sweet Science.

The Brooklyn native has long embraced the sport, showcasing her passion for the craft during the introductory scene to Spike Lee’s 1989 classic, “Do The Right Thing.”

Dubbed “the First Lady of Boxing”, Perez has been a fixture at boxing matches past and present. She even co-hosted the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame Gala back in 2015, honoring numerous standout punchers, including Marvin Hager, Lennox Lewis, Felix Trinidad, Roger Mayweather and Floyd Mayweather.

Perez also has a longstanding friendship with Tyson. She was tasked with conducting a recent Q&A with the former undisputed heavyweight champion ahead of Friday’s clash.
