NASCAR is returning to Iowa Speedway for the second straight season this weekend. Iowa has been an amazing track for NASCAR, and it is expected to be very good again in 2026. However, what is the latest on the track’s status for the 2027 season? It appears to be in a good spot for another weekend.
Iowa Speedway president Eric Peterson said the speedway will host a Cup Series event in 2027, as reported by KNIA/KRLS’ Randy Van. Peterson also announced that Iowa will get a $20 million upgrade. This is welcome news for NASCAR fans, as Iowa has been one of the sport’s best tracks the last two seasons.

For several years, Iowa only hosted the ARCA Menards Series before NASCAR returned in 2024. Now, the speedway should be sticking around for a long time after these upgrades. Iowa deserves a place on the 2027 NASCAR schedule, and it won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
