Inter Milan are waiting for the go-ahead from Atalanta to make another bid for forward Ademola Lookman.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the transfer soap opera of the summer has entered a dormant phase.

The explosive transfer saga with Atalanta and Ademola Lookman has come to define Inter’s summer.

Inter have made two offers for Lookman. And Atalanta have flatly rejected both of them.

Lookman himself reacted furiously to his club’s refusal to sell him to Inter.

So far, Inter’s offer for Lookman has reached as high as around €45 million with add-ons.

And the Nerazzurri are ready to further improve their bid.

The Corriere dello Sport report that Inter could put an offer worth €45 million plus a few milliion euros in add-ons.

This would get Inter close to a €50 million total valuation.

Furthermore, the Nerazzurri could also sweeten the deal by sending a young player to Bergamo as a makeweight.

Inter are fairly confident that an offer along these lines would be enough to break Atalanta’s resolve.

But for now, La Dea are playing it close to the chest. They still haven’t told Inter what their demands are for Lookman.

Therefore, Inter are awaiting some signal from Atalanta so they can lodge a new bid.
