Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta has set his sights on Cesc Fabregas, viewing the Spaniard as the perfect successor to Simone Inzaghi.

Per Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri chief is keen to complete the deal as quickly as possible.

Indeed, the 49-year-old held a crunch meeting with Inter, where he communicated his desire to leave the club.

Therefore, Simone Inzaghi will soon take over the reins at Al-Hilal, with a lucrative contract waiting for him in Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, Inter are desperate to sign Cesc Fabregas to replace the Italian manager.

That level of autonomy is something he has enjoyed at Como, and he’s unlikely to settle for less at San Siro.

Furthermore, Fabregas would likely pursue younger players to reshape Inter’s aging squad.

But he wouldn’t change the core of the team.
