One bonus that comes with a Week 0 conference game is it means we get an official injury report for NC State much earlier than we would normally. And that initial report indicates that the Pack made it out of camp pretty healthy—no key players are listed. Virginia’s injury list is much longer, though the Cavs aren’t in bad shape overall, either.
Isaiah Crowell missed all of last season with an injury and might still be working his way back from that, but he’d played only sparingly in 2024. Teddy Hoffman, of course, is out for the season thanks to a positive PED test. Tyreek Copper has had some offseason buzz around him but the true freshman’s time on the field this week probably would have been minimal at best, even if he were fully healthy.

On the UVA side, receiver Rico Flores was listed as a starter earlier this week on the team’s depth chart. Flores had a rather modest 2025 season at UCLA (26 catches for 274 yards), so he probably wasn’t going to be a key to the Cavs’ gameplan anyway. The status of star linebacker Kam Robinson, who tore an ACL last November, is what you should be watching for on Saturday. If he is well enough to play, then he can be a difference-maker for UVA.
