Northridge may not have won the 2025 IHSAA girls golf state finals ― that title belongs to Zionsville ― but the Raiders finished as the best South Bend area team from Prairie View in Carmel Saturday, Oct. 4. Not only that, but Northridge’s seventh-place finish (678, +102 across two rounds) is the best in school history, according to head coach Ken Brewster.
“Awesome group,” Brewster wrote via text. “[We] played well both days … Excited for this group.”
Led, as always, by senior Alex Reschly’s 153 (+9), Northridge beat out other area competition in Penn and South Bend Saint Joseph. On day two, Reschly shot a 77 and placed in a tie for the 10th-best individual performer. Brewster said Reschly’s finish is the best individual placement in program history, and she earns a second All-State honor for the accomplishment.
Behind Reschly was senior Macey Riegsecker, who finished both days with a combined 167 (+23) and shot an 89 on day two.
Freshman Kennadi Kropf finished the state finals with a 174 (+30), and she shot an 85 on day two. That was a four-shot improvement from day one. Sophomore Callie Miller had an even better improvement from the first day to the second, finishing Saturday with a 91 (192, +48 overall).
Saint Joseph finished their second-straight year at Prairie View just one place and 12 shots behind Northridge. At eighth overall, Saint Joseph was led by sophomore Lucy Dunham’s 164 (+20). Dunham shot an 82 each day.
Lucy’s older sister, Marley, finished with a 168 (+24). The senior shot an 83 on day two, a slight improvement from her Friday performance.
Junior Reese Hull was the Huskies’ No. 3 with a 176 (+32). She, too, improved by two shots with an 87 on Saturday. Senior Sydney Schmeltz ended her high school golf career with a 92 on Saturday, finishing the weekend with a 182 (+38).
Lastly, senior Isabella Jeffery recorded a 189 (+45) and shot a 95 on Saturday.
Penn finished tied for 11th overall with a 702 (+126). The Kingsmen were led by senior Scarlett Biever, who finished tied for the 27th-best individual score with a 160 (+16). Biever improved from her Friday score by four strokes on Saturday with a 78.
Fellow senior Claire Tobin followed with a 164 (+20), shooting an 81 on day two. Finishing third for Penn was senior Lillian Norris’s 186 (+42). Norris ended her high school golf career with a 92 Saturday.
Sophomore Katherine Lee finished her trip to the State Finals with a 192 (+48), and she shot a 96 on day two.
As the only South Bend area individual to advance to the state finals without a team, NorthWood senior Sophie Richmond was tied for the 17th-best individual. Richmond shot a 76 on day two to finish with a 155 (+11).
Zionsville clinched a victory with a team score of 607 (+31). The top individual was Eagles sophomore Taylor Snively, who shot a 141 (-3).
