Hyundai has unveiled the Ioniq 3, its electric compact hatchback for Europe. Despite looking like a sharper Genesis GV60, the Ioniq 3 is actually much smaller than the luxury crossover. It is also the first vehicle on the continent with the automaker’s new Pleos Connect Infotainment system.

The Ioniq 3 rides on Hyundai’s E-GMP 400-volt architecture. It has a single front motor—no front trunk—that delivers up to 147 horsepower in the Standard Range model, which has a 42.2-kilowatt-hour battery and up to 213 miles of range on Europe’s WLTP.

The long-range model has a 61.0-kWh battery and up to 308 miles of range. It also has less power than the standard-range variant, with 135 hp on tap, and it is slower to 62 miles per hour, 9.0 seconds versus 9.6. Torque is the same for both at 184 pound-feet, and Hyundai limits the top speed to 105 mph.

Not A Rebadged GV60

The Ioniq 3 wears Hyundai’s new Art of Steel design language, which we recently saw on the brand’s Boulder concept. It also has a 0.263 drag coefficient and measures 163.6 inches long, 15.3 inches shorter than the GV60.

Inside, the EV is the first in Europe to have Hyundai’s Pleos Connect Infotainment system. It runs Android Automotive OS and comes with either a 12.9-inch or a 14.6-inch screen, depending on the trim, which includes an N Line variant.

Trim Horsepower Torque  Range
Ioniq 3 SR 147 HP 184 LB-FT 213 Miles
Ioniq 3 LR 135 HP 184 LB-FT 308 Miles

While Hyundai revealed the new Pleos in 2025 without any physical buttons, the Ioniq 3 has a row of them below the screen. There are switches for heated seats, temperature control, fan speed, and HVAC mode, and a knob for volume.

Hyundai says the Ioniq 3 has 15.6 cubic feet of cargo space, including 4.2 cu ft in the Megabox, an integrated storage box under the trunk’s false floor. Other available features include a Bose premium audio system, dual-zone climate control, and LED ambient lighting.

Motor1’s Take: Hyundai continues to expand its Ioniq line of electric vehicles. We won’t get the Ioniq 3 in the United States, but we could get the Kia version, which should have similar specs but a lot less range.
