The San Francisco Giants continue this three-game road series against the Cleveland Guardians this afternoon.
Getting the start for the Giants today, and making his major league debut, will be left-hander Matt Wilkinson. Wilkinson has a 3.40 ERA for the season in the minors, with 96 strikeouts to 31 walks in 90 innings pitched over 20 starts.

He’ll be facing off against Guardians left-hander Parker Messick, who enters today’s game with a 2.59 ERA, 3.25 FIP, with 142 strikeouts to 40 walks in 142.1 innings pitched. His last start was in the Guardians’ 3-0 loss to the Detroit Tigers last Thursday, in which he allowed two runs on three hits with six strikeouts and two walks in five and two thirds innings.
