Covington and Muhammad have held gold in the UFC. The former held the interim welterweight title, while Muhammad became the undisputed champion. Covington is no longer on the UFC’s roster, while Muhammad has attempted to return to his former glory.
Both fighters have showcased their wrestling skills over the years. Who will stand tall on the mat?

He landed 10 against Robbie Lawler and six against Jorge Masvidal. Covington is 4-0 in RAF competition, beating Arman Tsarukyan, one of the most active fighters outside the cage, 5–3.
Muhammad averaged 1.98 takedowns landed in the octagon. He landed seven against Stephen Thompson and nine against Leon Edwards. With a 90% takedown defense, Muhammad is as tough as they come.
Both have something to prove here. Covington is out of the UFC and focusing his energy on RAF. Given his background, a motivated Covington could very well continue his win streak against Muhammad.

Chimaev vs. Burns prediction and best bet
When healthy, Khamzat Chimaev is lethal on the floor. In the octagon, he averages 5.32 takedowns landed per 15 minutes. A three-time Swedish National Champion, Chimaev pinned Dillon Danis in 44 seconds at RAF 10. He easily dispatched Tyron Woodley in early September.
An IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu Champion and ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship gold medalist, Burns averaged 2.04 takedowns landed in the UFC. A recent grappling contest for him was a win at UFC BJJ 9, beating Horlando Monteiro via submission.
When they fought in 2022, the Fight of the Year contender saw 227 combined significant strikes, with Chimaev landing two takedowns. Burns avoided one takedown, while Chimaev stuffed five.
Chimaev is a monster. Burns still has that competitive spirit, but is he as motivated as Chimaev is in his later years? Chimaev should have the edge over Burns here.

A dominant wrestler, Blades won silver at the 2025 Olympics. A multi-time gold medalist, she won the NCAA Division I Championships with Iowa before committing to RAF, shutting out three straight opponents with a combined fall record of 32-0.
A freestyle wrestling champion in Moscow, Avsaragova had a 6-2 MMA record, competing with Titan Global, Bellator, and PFL. The Russian was supposed to fight Blades at RAF 12 but backed out due to illness.
Avsaragova may have been a champion early, but Blades has been more consistent in her commitment to freestyle wrestling. Preparing for the Olympics, Blades should do enough to secure the win.

When with the UFC, Rockhold averaged 0.70 takedowns landed per 15 minutes. He can get down and dirty when needed, but is known as a striker. A former judo star, Pyfer averages 1.45 takedowns landed, landing two against Israel Adesanya. He won two grappling fights, his last bout being in 2024.
Rockhold is entering into the unknown here. Can he adapt early on and take Pyfer down? Pyfer is the more active fighter and may toy with the former world champion.
