Niall Adams’ hopes of winning Guernsey’s first Commonwealth Games boxing medal are over after he lost his quarter-final bout.
The 28-year-old lightweight lost a unanimous points decision to Namibia’s Tryagain Morning Ndevelo in Glasgow.

Had he won he would have been guaranteed a bronze medal for making the semi-finals.
Adams started the first round aggressively but Ndevelo used his reach advantage to take control and win it unanimously.
It was a similar story in the second as Adams struggled to make an impact on the Namibian.
Knowing he needed a stoppage, Adams tried to up the tempo in the final round but he could not do enough to make it through.
Adams had progressed to the last eight after winning a split decision over Sri Lanka’s Ravindu Jayanath on Monday.
