The new Bushnell Wingman HD combines GPS yardages and powerful audio in one rugged, on-course speaker for today’s connected golfer.
Bushnell’s latest addition to its lineup of smart golf accessories, the Wingman HD, isn’t shy about what it wants to be. It’s a Bluetooth speaker, a GPS rangefinder and a glimpse into where the world of golf electronics is headed.
With a full-color display, built-in yardages and course mapping and a sound system powerful enough to drown out your partner’s three-putt, the Wingman HD is the latest example of how golf technology keeps blending performance with unexpected features.
At the center of the device is a bright 3.5-inch touchscreen. Once paired with your smartphone and the Bushnell Golf mobile app, the Wingman HD can track your location on more than 38,000 courses worldwide and provide scoring and shot-tracking tools. As you play, the screen displays front, middle and back yardages along with hazards and hole layouts. Players can also hear distances announced aloud with the press of a button.
Of course, a speaker has to sound good, too. Dual 15-watt drivers, passive radiators and a 360-degree output deliver clear, full-range audio. A powerful magnet allows the Wingman HD to stay locked onto a golf cart frame, or its circular design lets it rest securely in a cup holder. Bushnell even added the option to link multiple Wingman HDs together for events, creating what the company calls a “concert-link” experience.
The Wingman HD is waterproof and dustproof to IPX67 standards, so it can handle a rain shower or a splash from a nearby hazard.
Selling for $199.99, it sits in the sweet spot between serious tech and social toy. For some golfers, it could replace both a GPS device and a portable speaker, simplifying life on the course. For others, it might be a test of patience—especially when the playlist flips to ’80s hair metal as someone lines up a three-footer for par. Either way, the Wingman HD captures where golf is heading: connected, confident and a little louder than before.
