Vegas Golden Knights forward Mark Stone was absent from practice in anticipation of the birth of his second child. Nicolas Hague returned to practice today while he heals a lower-body injury.

Stone has been on a tear to start the season, scoring five goals and 19 points in 11 games. He leads the Golden Knights in points and is tied for the leagued lead.

No timetable has been given for the 32-year-olds absence but the Golden Knights are back in action Saturday when they take on Utah HC at home.

Hague’s return to practice is a positive sign as he has been dealing with a lower-body injury for the past three games. The 6’6 defender last featured against the Ottawa Senators where he recorded his first goal of the season.

Kaedan Korczak has stepped into the Golden Knights lineup to replace Hague and has done everything the team could have asked. He’s been paired with Brayden McNabb and has yet to give up a goal at 5-on-5 and has been on the ice for seven Golden Knights goals.

Despite Hague’s return to practice, his availability for Saturday’s game is still in question.
