Striker Francesco Pio Esposito feels that his goal for Italy against Estonia yesterday must be a “starting point” for him.
The 20-year-old Inter Milan striker spoke to the Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. He gave his thoughts after the 3-1 World Cup qualifying win by the Azzurri.
Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito got off and running for Italy yesterday.
The 20-year-old came off the bench in yesterday’s World Cup qualifying clash with Estonia. He repaid the faith of coach Gennaro Gattuso by scoring the all-important third goal.
This followed a bright start to the season, which saw Pio Esposito score his first ever goal in Serie A for Inter.
Pio Esposito: Goal For Italy Vs Estonia Must Be “A Starting Point”
“I’m still struggling to understand that this really happened,” said Pio Esposito after his goal yesterday.
“To score your first goal for the national team is the kind of feeling that you can only understand after some time has passed.”
“Right now I have a million thoughts running through my head,” continued Pio Esposito.
“But for me this has to be a starting point,” he added.
