WORTHINGTON — Peyton Sachs took second place as the Lac qui Parle Valley girls golf team placed sixth on Friday evening at the Worthington Invite.

Sachs is a sophomore who shot an 89, second only to Murray County Central’s Ava Johnson.

Johnson, a senior who shot an 86 to earn medalist honors, led the Rebels to a first-place finish at the seven-team competition at Great Life Golf & Fitness Club. Ten schools were represented.

Fairmont and Worthington followed MCC’s meet-best 416 in the team competition. The Cardinals totaled 424 and the Trojans came in at 425. LQPV scored a 460.

Pipestone junior Vivian Brockberg rounded out the top three individuals behind a 94.
