During the Columbus Blue Jackets and Boston Bruins game last night, Mathieu Olivier and Jeffrey Viel performed admirably during their first shift.

This was yet another heavyweight bout for Olivier, the last one coming on Saturday night against the Montreal Canadiens when he fought Arber Xhekaj.

After the fight ended, former NHL’er and enforcer John Scott took to social media to discuss a potential idea that he has for a player like Olivier.
He started out by mentioning his love for Olivier, and he doesn’t get as much appreciation as other fighters in the NHL do.
He then went on to mention his idea called the “Bob Probert Award” for a player like Olivier who drops the gloves to defend his teammates or turn around the momentum of the game while also putting the puck in the back of the net.
Is this a good idea? Should the NHL finally give some acknowledgement to NHL players who go out of their way to stand up for their teammates while also contributing on both ends of the ice?
It would be interesting to see who would win it. Names like Tom Wilson and Brady Tkachuk would likely dominate the award, but players Olivier and even Matt Rempe would be prime candidates for the award.
