Former Texas Longhorn Tommy Morrison continued his remarkable start to his professional career Sunday, capturing his first Korn Ferry Tour victory at the Evans Scholars Invitational at The Glen Club in Glenview, Illinois.
Morrison held a 54-hole lead for the first time in his young professional career before dominating the final round, firing a bogey-free 8-under 63 to secure a final margin of victory of three strokes.

The win vaulted Morrison from No. 29 to No. 8 on the Korn Ferry Tour points list. The top 20 players on the end-of-season list earn PGA Tour cards for the next year, meaning the 21-year-old is now in position to make the jump to the highest level of men’s golf in 2027.
Morrison finished sixth in the 2026 PGA Tour University rankings, giving him Korn Ferry Tour membership for the remainder of the 2026 season.
The towering 6-foot-9 golfer made his professional debut in June at the OccuNet Classic in Amarillo, Texas, where he tied for 10th. He followed that up with a tie for fifth at the Memorial Health Championship later that month and a runner-up finish at The Blue Championship two weeks ago before breaking into the winners’ circle on Sunday in just his fourth start.
Morrison’s success follows a stellar collegiate career at the University of Texas. After his sophomore season in 2024, Morrison became the first American ever to win the European Amateur Championship when he emerged from a three-way playoff to claim the title at The Scandinavian in Denmark. As a junior in 2025, he was a second-team All-American and a semifinalist for the Ben Hogan Award. Later that year, Morrison helped Team USA defeat Great Britain & Ireland at the 2025 Walker Cup at Cypress Point Club in California.
